RE: Eastern Ohio Amateur

(West Lafayette, OH) The final round of the Eastern Ohio Amateur was played Sunday at River Greens Golf Club. Chris Saltmarsh (Inverness, FL) matched Saturday’s 5 under par 103 with another 103 to claim first place in the 54 hole event. Zach Sebert (Grove City, OH) and Stew Jamieson (Worthington, OH) tied for second place at 210. Ray Sovik (Powell) was 4th at 211, which also took home the Senior Amateur Trophy for the second year in a row. Ryan Meade (Westerville, OH) and Mike Kelley (Columbus, OH) tied for 5th. At 214. There were three who shot 215, Mitch Levengood (New Philadelphia, OH), Ben Adams (Westerville, OH), and Brad Wright (Cambridge, OH). Lynn Martin (Findlay) rounded out the top 10 with a 217, which was second place in the Senior Division.

Scott Cope (Zanesville, OH) was third in the Senior Division, John Perkowski (Dover) was fourth at 223, with Joe Hedrick (Barberton) and Don Darr (Coshocton, OH) tied for 5th place.

Saltmarsh is a past champion of this event as well as the Coshocton Invitational and the Powerade Fall Collegiate – all played at River Greens GC. He holds the modern day course records of 63 and the fifty-four hole record of 200 (-16).

75 amateurs were entered in the two day championship.
