RE: Eastern Ohio Amateur Final 

(West Lafayette, OH) The last open field amateur golf championship before the college students report for classes was held this weekend at River Greens Golf Club in Coshocton County. The Eastern Ohio Amateur, a 54 hole - 2 day championship, annually features the best amateur golfers from Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Brad Baker(Warsaw), one of the best known amateurs in the state, posted a two day total of 9 under par 207 to take home the champions trophy. Michael Todd (Coshocton) had Sunday's low round of 101 to come back and claim second place. Todd will be a senior at Charleston University. Josh Anderson (Sunbury) was third with a 212. Brad Wright (Cambridge) was 4th at 213 while Andy Miller, Otterbein's senior leader from Xenia, was next at 214. Heath Trabue (Columbus), a sophmore at Otterbein College played the course in 215 strokes. Tyler Miskell (Heath), the first round leader with a stunning 10 under par 98 finished with a 217. Miskell will be a junior at Wright State. 

The Senior Division was claimed by Lynn Martin from Powell. Martins 218 was also good enough to finish 8th in the Open Division. Ray Sovik was second at 220. Joe Hedrick (Barberton) was third at 226. Doug Crim (Columbus) was 4th one shot back. Tom Young (Dublin) was 5th, and Jack Trabue finished 6th. 

87 players were entered and came from as far away as Florida to compete.

RE: Eastern Ohio Amateur (1st Round)

(West Lafayette, OH) The first round of the Eastern Ohio Amateur was played Saturday at River Greens Golf Club in eastern Coshocton County. Tyler Miskell (Heath) posted a stellar ten under par 98 to take the lead by 4 strokes over Brad Baker (Warsaw).
Josh Anderson (Sunbury) stands at 5 under par, Brad Wright (Cambridge) is 4 under and Ray Sovik is 2 under par. The Trio of Matt Shaffer (Grove City), Andy Miller (Xenia) and the defending chapion Zach Sebert all finished the first 27 holes at 1 under par.

Ray Sovik is also leading the Senior division, with Joe Hedrick in second place 5 shots off the pace. Lynn Martin is third at 112.

The final round begins Sunday morning at 9:30.
